Lisa-marie has been a practicing and exhibiting Mosaic Artist for 12 years and teaches Mosaic Workshops from her home studio in Elvington, York .
Lisa-marie is a member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic and Coordinator of the regional group BAMM North, which exhibits regularly. Have a look at BAMM North's Mosaic Art Here and find out about upcoming exhibition news.
"I have always had an obsession with colour, texture and objects with a story. I collected shells, scraps of pretty paper and ribbons as a child but a tiny, rusty key I'd found on the pavement one day was, and still is, one of my prize possessions.
After a visit to York Open Studios in 2009, I was inspired to make my own mosaic and discovered BAMM North. since then I have exhibited, delivered workshops and undertaken commissions.
I create mosaics for the sheer personal pleasure of collecting and handling beautiful tiles, materials and found objects and the wellbeing that it brings me.
Whilst I follow different sparks of inspiration to create a variety of subject matters and formats, I mostly enjoy using mixed-media to curate collections of colour, texture and intriguing objects."
